16. März 2009 - Reconstruction successfulluy completed

The reconstruction of the facility in Veilsdorf which was started in Mai last year has been successfully competed. Particularly the newly created lab areas have already been occupied and are fully functioning. In the coming weeks the more to the new storage areas will be completed and the waste water treatment equipment will be put into operation.

      


19. Mai 2008 - Start of the Reconstruction of the Manufacturing Facility in Veilsdorf

This week the start for the reconstruction of the manufacturing facility in Veilsdorf is planned. This effort will transform the currently not utilized part of the 70’s building from the original status additionally available 1600m² of useable floor space. To achieve this aim the external walls will be modernized, a second floor integrated and required utilities added. It is planned to complete the reconstruction by the end of the year 2008.


31. März 2008 - Successful Completion of the STIFT-Project

The STIFT sponsored project dealing with the required theoretical knowledge for a new melting wire material was successfully completed. In cooperation with the Technische Universität Ilmenau potenial two / three and four substance systems were investigated and evaluated. Based on the findings the tasks and partners for a follow-up project addressing the practical implementation of the theoretical results were defined.


17. December 2007 - Elschukom in Outer Space

In the upcoming issue 1-2/2008 der of the journal Astronomie heute published by the Spektrum der Wissenschaft publishing house Carolin Konermann covers the story about a novel solar sail which is the conceptual design for the drive mechanism of a next generation space probe. The researcher Pekka Janhunen of the Finnish Meterological Institute has used for his tests a total of 21.000 meter of a special copper-silver alloy wire of produced by Elschukom with a diameter of 20µm.


17. August 2007 - A last Good-bye to Dr. Karl Poerschke

On August 17, 2007 our General Manager and Shareholder Dr. Karl Poerschke passed away. With him we lose an outstanding personality, who with his humanity and motivational power was key in developing and shaping the company Elschukom over the past 12 years. His comprehensive expertise, his consistent implementation of company goals and his never ending loyalty to Elschukom made working with and for him a great experience for all of us. We will never forget Dr. Karl Poerschke. Our deep sympathy goes out to his family.
The now necessary restructuring work within the company due to the transfer of the company shares owned by Dr Poerschke to his heirs is in progress. It is expected that they are completed by the end of the year 2007.


4. July 2007 - Official Kick-Off for a STIFT sponsored Development Project

Today a long-term prepared project for the development of new melting wire materials in cooperation with the Technical University of Ilmenau was officially started. The development work is supported by the Stiftung für Technologie, Innovation und Forschung Thüringen (STIFT).
